Am I Failing at This Motherhood Thing???

Do you sometimes feel like you are just failing miserably at this motherhood thing?

Does doubt creep in somedays when what you see around you does not match up with what you thought it was going to look like?

Do you see your weaknesses showing up in your children and you start to wonder "am I doing any good here or just harm?"

I'd like to remind us all that this is what God has called us to, and by His grace, we will not fail!

"And you cannot find any place in Scripture where a man was ever sent by God to do a work in which he ever failed." (D.L.Moody)

I'm reminded of Moses, how many times did it look like perhaps he missed God and was failing? Did God fail to do what He promised?

Consider Joseph, don't you think maybe it appeared as though what he believed God had called him to was never going to happen? Did God fail?

What about Abraham and Sarah? I could go on and on with the list of people who were called to something and it looked like it just wasn't going to happen. Take a moment and think on the many examples.

Take your eyes off of your circumstances, off of your day to day and put them on to the Living Almighty God! You are well able and equipped by Him to fulfill this calling on your life!
YOU WILL NOT FAIL, BECAUSE GOD DOES NOT FAIL!

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised. (Hebrews 10:35-36)
Our might is in His Almightiness!

Yes, I feel this way a lot, but as my children get older, the things that we taught are starting to pay off.

yes- I do have those attacks - sigh
and my daughters are 40 and 36
some times we take blame that is not ours- I did the best I could and I know you do too
I think we know that when we hear our name called '''MOM''' the best 3 letter name we receive in our life - God knows our heart

I cannot tell you how much I needed to hear this right now. Thank you so much. As I approach the first year of homeschooling with my 3 boys (10, 7, 3.5)- I am being flooded with all the areas in my life/discipline & relationships with my children that I have either been to lax on or, frankly, ignored out of selfishness and/or laziness. Quite convicting but at times it can be very disheartening. Oh, how I needed that encouragement today as I wondered if I have begun too late- that there is no way, with where I presently am and where I have led my children, that it can be redeemed. But God is the God of redemption.

Bless you! I greatly look forward to reading more from you as we approach a new lifestyle of homeschooling, but more importantly consistency, faithfulness, obedience, and integrity.

Yes, sometimes I wonder if I am doing more hard than good, but I trust that God is bigger than I am!
