Quiet Your Heart

Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

(Deuteronomy 5:12)

Give Me a heart that has learned how to become quiet and to rest. Anybody can work. Few people know how to be quiet. Ye must be able to collect yourself--to take time to absorb the Spirit of God. For to be freshly filled with the Spirit will bring the guidance and direction and wisdom and the will to do His bidding.

I what ways should I quiet my heart and rest?

from Dialogues with God, by Frances J. Roberts

My Bible study just said the same thing. Hmmmm, I'm sensing that God is speaking to me. Better get off her and have some more "quiet time" with the Lord before my children wake up.

PS, stop by my blog and check out my "wailing woman" story if you want a good laugh. I'm sure you have hundreds of your own stories!

Yes, Thank you for posting.
Oh that we remain in His rest, through Jesus Christ our Lord! :-D

There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

(Hebrews 4:9-11)
