I almost forgot to take a picture before I started painting these nightstands.
I cannot even count the amount of “tries” I did beforeI came up with the final product. I finally settled on the same green I painted our headboard.
It might be hard to tell, but I really distressed them and then glazed them the same as I did the headboard.
I poly-ed the top and waxed the sides. Ehem. My son actually did the ‘rub-out’ on the waxing, I pleaded that my arm was tired. He took right over. Sweet son.
I found a pair of cream colored lamps at a thrift store for $4!. My dear generous friend, Farmgirlcyn, gave me the black and white toile. I prayed unceasingly, as I have never made a lampshade before and I did not want the finished product to look as though I had indeed never made a lampshade.
A lot of prayers, some hot glue, Krylon Primer (it left a really cool texture) and some black bias tape, and voila! My first lampshades!
Notice the two sweet little birdies? Thrift store, $1 and some spray paint, I know, too cute. I have exchanged my “latte” money for spray paint money I should take a picture of everything that I have spray painted in the last month, might be embarrassing. Next time I hope to show the cool vintage fan I painted.
