What Do They See?

. . .and they recognized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

This literally popped off the page today and stirred in my heart an increased desire for others to recognize that I have been with Jesus!

When I come out of my room in the morning, after meeting with Jesus, do my children recognize that I have been with Jesus?

What about when I am out, do others, even strangers, recognize something different about me? Do they see Jesus in me?

I am reminded that I am part of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, that I may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light! Also, that I may live my life in such a way the others may witness my good deeds and come to glorify God. (taken from 1 Pt. 2:9-12)

I am not suggesting some outward behavior that we think will 'show Jesus' to others. No, I am simply talking about being in His Word, renewing our minds, meditating on it day and night. As we do this, we are changed. We become more like Him. The more of Him (the Word) that goes in the more we will display the wonders of Him.

Father God, draw me to you, to Your Word. Create in me such a hunger and passion for Jesus, the living Word. Let me be a living epistle, Lord, read by all men. I love you, Father. In Jesus Holy Name!

I think we have all been in the presence of someone who just exudes the love of Jesus. That is how I want others to see me.

Thanks for sharing this today!

Michelle, as I read your post I was touched, especially because it has been the call of my heart, to be more like Jesus, to just reek His love to everyone I meet, I hunger for His word and to have revelation of it as I read it, for the renewly of my mind.I do see Jesus in you when I watch you correct your children with love, and (even me). When you are sharing how much you love Him.
I pray God will continue to draw you to Him. I love you, mom

Michelle, I just listened to your verbably blog, and I was so touched and encouraged,I was gone when our Father healed you, I prayed everyday for His healing touch to be there for my baby girl. When I heard your voice after your were healed it gave me goose bumbs and I knew you had been with our Lord.
And when I look into your face I see such life, peace and joy
I thank God everyday for you and for Him and what He continues to do to my baby girl.

I love it when something so simple in the Bible "pops" out at you and I "really really" love it when you share it. This has been a resounding theme for me with the Lord lately, and I am not is mostly with learning to respond and speak with gentleness. Thanks for you encouragement. =0) Kelly

ps I have been reading the book that you gave me. Our family has a history of diabetes and the spiritual aspects of it were spot on. Just wanted to say thank you again. =0)

Jenn, you are welcome. I just love to be around those kind of people. I want to be those kind of people ;-)

Kelly, the Lord has me meditating on Pr. 15:1, a soft answer turns away wrath. He gave it to me in answer to my prayer for how to deal with my 2 1/2 year old. I find when I speak softly and gently I diffuse his complaining and grumbling. Also, I heard once that if you force yourself to speak gently when YOU are angry it turns away your wrath. I had never thought of it that way before, but it does help.

Thanks for the feedback on the book, I am continually wowed by the information in it and how spot on it is. So glad it is blessing you.

This is something I need to constantly remember. It's so easy to forget (probably because it is so important) but it would make such a difference if just one person lived this way. A nice little pinch for me! *wink*
Thanks Michelle!

This is wonderful! I was just telling Hubby how excited I am to get into the presence of the Lord, and how I want my children to "catch" that excitement and see how wonderful a life in Christ is!

The book is waiting for me at home - I can't wait to get home and read it! (We're still out of town on vacation.)

Thanks so much for these encouraging words!
