One morning as I was meditating on all the Lord has shown me these past few months I was struck with the magnitude of them. Some are so huge to me and I could not imagine how to be different or make the changes I needed to. Once again, looking within myself for the ability to do it.;-)
I stopped my 'old pattern' of thinking and began to praise Him for showing me these things and thanking Him because I knew if He revealed them to me He was going to show me how to 'live' it. I didn't need to fret, I just needed to keep my eyes on Him and let Him lead me, in His timing. Yeah me!
This is the devotional I read directly after the above interaction.
Never let your inadequacies be a handicap. Give them to Me, and they will become My opportunity to demonstrate My power operating through you. I would never have a chance to help you if you were always self-sufficient and capable of meeting every challenge.
Be ready to move in faith every time you sense inadequacy, and in each experience, as you trust Me, you will experience what is meant by the 'larger life'. I will fill all your lack with My divine undertaking and bring you out with testimony unto My name.
(Frances J. Roberts, Progress of Another Pilgrim)
And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefor will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
All He asks is that we give them to Him and they become an opportunity for HIM to demonstrate His power. I can do that. Can you? Why not take some time alone with Him and take all those weaknesses and inadequacy and give them to Him.
Here was the list I came up with that morning, not exhaustive, I assure you ;-)
*lack of strength and health
*lack of wisdom
*lack of ability to know how to live the new 'restful' life You are calling me too
*school . . .training . . .discipling
*being loving, listening
*sowing into relationships with the children
*living in 'unity' and with one mind and heart
*finding rest for my soul
*living in the moment
*paying attention
*not looking within me for the how-tos
*finding rest in YOU ALONE
*not running off on my own, ahead of You
*not being so 'driven'
It is lovely to read your reflections on the journey the Lord is leading you through. Look to Him...moment by moment...day by day! He is faithful and will accomplish all that He plans to in you and through you.

ReplyDeleteThe descriptions of your journey through this continue to speak directly to my heart as I wrestle with the same issues both physically and spiritually. I am a mom of 4, homeschooling and battling Adrenal Fatigue. You are a mentor, and an encouragement. May God bless you and guide you, and may you lean more on Him and less on you. :-)
ReplyDeleteMany blessings, wendy
From the first time I met you here in blogland I was so blessed by what you write in your posts. The Lord uses you to bless others. Now that you are going through so much with your health issues, I hope he will use others to minister to you and your needs.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you enjoy my daughter Lynnette. She is a wonderful person,...and the Lord made her that way. She has been through so much,...and the Lord has helped her with everything she has faced. I knew she would be a blessing to you. Have you read her book? I'm sure it would be a blessing too.
She really knows a lot about adrenal fatigue because of all of the research she did when she dicovered her son had it. But as I told her, it sounds like you know a lot about it too and that you know how to eat and what to eat. You can encourage each other and share ideas.
Jared is doing good. I think he has ups and downs, but for the most part, he is learning so much during all of this. He wrote a blog poist about his experience,..have you read it? I will come back with another comment after I copy it for you.

Hi again Michelle,..here is the post I was talking about.

I have been so frustrated this morning. My children are being disobedient, they are not listening and wanting to do their own thing. Keeping them on task has been impossible, from homeschooling to chores. I am worn out already. I am weary and I am reminded by this post, to cry out to Him, take it to Him and ask for His strength and wisdom. Help me Lord, I can't do this on my own!
ReplyDeleteGod is really working with me on this, too. He has really come through after a four year struggle to not support, not panic as my husband figured out what wanted to do in life. (See my blog's latest post for details). He has taken those inadequancies and self-sufficiency and really helped me learn to lean on him since I couldn't plan anything for the last 4 years. As a natural planner, God really had to use the jack hammer on me for this lesson.
