What is a Titus 2 Blog Party?
Well, most of you are familiar with the following verses...
"Bid the older women similarly to be reverent and devout in their deportment as becomes those engaged in sacred service, not slanderers or slaves to drink. They are to give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble, So that they will wisely train the young women to be sane and sober of mind (temperate, disciplined) and to love their husbands and their children, To be self-controlled, chaste, homemakers, good-natured (kindhearted), adapting and subordinating themselves to their husbands, that the word of God may not be exposed to reproach (blasphemed or discredited). (Titus 2:3-5)
There are so many wonderful women out there with so much to offer, and I am finding 'blogworld' a wonderful place to, at least in part, fulfill this scripture. I think a party is a great way to reach more women, get to know others, and get your blog noticed. God has woven such beautiful lives for each of us. We have an opportunity to learn so much from each other. How wonderful to have a blog to share all He is doing and has done. I love the verses about encouraging and exhorting one another in the Bible. What an ingenious way to do it!
1. Invite your friends!
Put the invitation button on your blog, and write a post inviting your readers to come to the party. The 'party button code' is on my sidebar, just cut and paste it into an HTML sidebar gadget. Consider making a 'sticky' post of the invitation. This keeps it at the top of your page continuously or you could put it into your sidebar.
2. Throw a party!
During the week of the party, write an intro/party post. Your introduction may include whatever you want us to know about you. It may be short or long. Share the heart behind your blog. Are you a true 'frugal fanatic'? Organizational freak? Chef extraordinaire? Want to minister to others? Whatever your vision is, be sure to share it! You may include pictures or not. It's your party, let us know who you are!
3. Sign into Mr. Linky here at She Looketh Well and add your link. (your intro/party post)
I will put Mr. Linky up the night before the party and participating bloggers who have their intro/party post can add their link any time during the week. The sooner you do it in the week the more traffic you will have.
Please do not add your link until your intro/party post is up on your blog, and please make sure you link your intro/party post to Mr. Linky, not you homepage. When the ladies start arriving, you want them to know they are in the right place!
4. Make sure the week of the party you go 'blog hopping"!
5. Just to keep up the fun, the following week write a post about some of the wonderful people you met and blogs you visited.
We at "She Looketh Well" will be having a huge drawing. Prizes will include a Soy Bath and Body Basket, Soy candles, handmade note cards and more!
To be eligible to win you need to have linked up to Mr. Linky with your intro/party post sometime before Thursday at Midnight the week of the party. On Friday, I will have a drawing and announce the winner by Noon on Friday. I hope to post the video of the drawing. (Sorry, USA only due to shipping costs)
What fun! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteOh, Michelle, I was not talking about you on my recent posts. The bloggers and website people I was talking about never come to my blog or read comments. Some of them are actual websites, not blogspots. The legalism has been driving me crazy. Yes, I have loads of the same convictions you do, and none of the things I mentioned are wrong in and of themselves, it is just that some people seem to think that all of us HAVE to do all of those things, and practically make it a point of fellowship. With some of these people, I am disqualified to be any sort of a Titus 2 mentor, because I have lived my WHOLE LIFE wrong according to them (not true). But, it has been really getting me down. I mean, if my husband and I have lived our lives all wrong and raised our children all wrong, we have been listening to the devil all of these years and not the Lord, so what are we doing in the ministry. I am vulnerable now, an you can well understand, and these blogs are getting to me. I can't stand the way some of these women scoff at everybody. There is almost no love of the lost (the heartbeat of Christ). Sorry for the book. I didn't mean you.
ReplyDeleteOk, I put the picture on my blog. Thank you for inviting me. You are one of the few that I blog with (I got rid of the others) who would even consider me for a Titus 2 mentor. It means a lot. I will put an introducton on my blog. How do I do that. I am a little confused, and I don't really know what Mr. Linky is.
ReplyDeleteCivilla, I feel better after what you said. I don't know what a Mr. Linky is either!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I feel dumb for making it look like I was making fun of stuff when I do most of it myself or at least approve of it!!! I fixed it though. Thank you for saying something so I could fix it before I hurt any more people's feelings! Someday I will learn to blog. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a very gentle spirit and talk about Jesus a lot. The blogs that I have quit going to don't do that.
I am always up for a party... most certainly one with other ladies that celebrate the Lord.
ReplyDeleteI'm there! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in! How exciting and fun!
ReplyDeleteCan't resist a good party with faith filled women. Count me in.
ReplyDeleteI just put the button on my blog. I will put the invitation post up in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Dea

ReplyDeleteI'm new to your site and I am definitely in. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteYes, I too am new! I stumbled upon your blog from Joy's Stay at Home Missionary blog. And how I found her I have no idea :)
ReplyDeleteAll that to say- I think this blog party is a fabulous idea! Can't wait to meet new friends for this journey. And as a "young mom" (a 2 year old and a 8 month old) heading to the mission field, I need all the support I can get!
Already have the button on my site!
This is a really neat idea. I saw the link on At The Well, and I was really curious what a blog party would look like. I've enjoyed making new friends online through blogs, and I look forward to making some more friends this way!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi, Michelle,
